Ninjas of Hope – A Bird’s Eye View of the 2014 Food Drive
For the last 37 years, the Realtors® of Vernon BC have banded together and collected food for our local food bank. Each year we go out and hang bags from door handles and mailboxes, and the next day, we come back and pick up the generous donations.
The response to our annual food drive is overwhelming and heartwarming.
This is my fifth year involved, and it has not only become an important event for myself and my wife Teresa, but also for my friends and clients.
I start to get calls a month before asking when they can mark it on the calendar to help.
Without any convincing or salesmanship, we had a team of 10 people on the ground this year. Each and every one of us have had hard times in our life, and we’re now in a place where we can give back to our community.
As long as I am physically able, I’ll be banding together my Super Ninja Food Team, and we’ll be out there in the night, picking up the donations.
Count on it!
Special thanks to Royal LaPage Executives Realty Ltd. for the use of the van, Skyride Cycle for the most awesome GoPro camera and the Salvation Army House of Hope for helping those in need in our community.
And to everyone on the Super Ninja Food Team – we can’t thank you enough! Mandy Birch, Paul Dixon, Jo Dixon, Jericho Dixon, Justice Dixon, Ezra Dixon, Tonya Perkins, Randy Kazemir, Ryan Connolly, Avrill Trach, Jeremy Schaffner, Aynsley Scharf and Diane Worswick!
Next year – we’ll be back!
