Want to sell your home this fall? Is it ready?

It’s summer, relax and enjoy it, right?

As we set into the groove of summer fun, most everything in life goes on the back burner and we decide we can put things off until later.

While you are out enjoying summer, your home might need some attention to get it ready for the fall selling season. Ask John Deak of Royal LaPage for advice on how to best prepare your home for sale.

After all, who wants to worry about grown up stuff when we have BBQ’s, beach time, vacations, and all sorts of other distractions?

Fall Season: the reality

But here’s the deal: The day after Labour Day, the phones will start ringing in our office. Reality sets in, life can’t be ignored, and we all have to start acting our age and get back to work.

Part of that reality is the fact people want to have their house sold and be moved into a new one before Christmas. That puts us square into our next busy season, The Fall Season.

Do you want to move?

If you are thinking about moving to a new home this fall and you need to sell your home to do so, you don’t want to be caught off guard.

  • If you feel the house you are selling needs tweaking…paint, minor repairs, etc…now is the time to tackle those projects.
  • Do you know how much you are going to need out of the sale of your home to purchase your next one? Now is a good time to have that conversation with your lender.
  • Have you scanned the marketplace to see what your home is competing with and what you might want to replace it with? Check now to see what’s out there now and where you’ll be positioned as the market gets going.
  • Realistically, the fall season is about 90 days, but the average selling time is closer to 120 days. There’s really no time to waste.

Your best chance of success is to be ready to rumble at Labour Day.

This is really good; details are pretty fine but I wish you can add more good tips too. I’ve been searching the net for some topics like this and so far, this is one of the best.
